Redland Museum explores the settlement, development and changing social character of the Redlands region through the collection, preservation and exhibition of locally significant material objects. Once proposed as an alternate port to Brisbane, the quiet farmlands of the Redland District have in recent years laid claim to the fastest urban growth rates in Australia. The collection focuses on social life since establishment as a free settlement 150 years ago, showing how things that local people made, modified, used and discarded can tell the stories of their lives and the times in which they have lived.
